I've been trying to explain this to clients for over a decade. I've even written drafts with titles and meta data in Wordpress for a number of clients, but they are scared to death of content. It only makes sense that the more people use search the longer the phrases will be. John really knows what he is talking about here.

I ditto Steve.  Came to the realization of silo/theme structure just a few years ago with a slew of unusual conversions from none optimized words. Calls would come in for items we were not promoting but appeared elsewhere on the site.  One I got wind of it, I just started duplicating it.  Cannot pass on this enlightenment to clients though.

So it makes sense to actually have information that people want instead of having a lot of crap that's been re-spun so much it looks like cotton candy. Apparently the content can be in very small clumps.
